The Board of Education

Brown City Community Schools is a dynamic community organization that embraces students with a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment. Through positive relationships, leadership and a culture of empathy and respect, we develop independent and confident learners prepared for the future. 

  • Mark Shadley - Elected 2016 

    Mark, a Brown City High School graduate, is the Senior Vice President at Tri-County Bank (Brown City).  Mark and his wife, Sarah (Woodcox), have 4 children: Trace, Sawyer, Rhett, and Jett. 

  • Mary Lou Jacobs (Martus) - Elected 2016

    Mary Lou, a Brown City High School graduate, is a Loan Adjuster at Tri-County Bank (Brown City).  Mary Lou and her husband, Justin, have 2 children: Teryn and Colton.

  • Theresa Kohler - Elected 2018

    Theresa, a Peck High School graduate, is the Auction Manager for CIS Auctions and the Office Manager for Kendra IT Consulting. Theresa and her husband Matt, a Brown City High School graduate, have four daughters: Madalynn, Molly, Megan, and McKenzie

  • Robb Gingell - Appointed - April 2021

    Robb, a Brown City High School graduate, is the owner of Gingell Feed Consultants.  Robb and his wife, Jenny, have a three sons, Joey, Tanner, and Jack

  • Ryan Banks - Elected 2022

    Ryan, a Brown City High School graduate, is the owner of Banks Chiropractic. Ryan and his wife, Michelle (Burgess), have 2 daughters: Alaina and Alivia.

  • Bob Alexander - Elected 2020

    Bob, a Brown City High School graduate, is the owner of Alexander Trucking.  Bob and his wife, Emily (Greenlee), have two daughters: Payton and Harper.

  • Brooke Harnden (Liebler) - Appointed Nov. 2025

    Brooke, a Brown City High School graduate, is in administration and marketing at the family business (Liebler Insurance Agency). Brooke and her husband, Justin, have one child: Vivian.
